BJJ Fundamentals is a successful Gracie Humaita Program offered at Gracie Sydney and at Gracie Smeaton Grange.  The new students have developed  greatly since Professor Alex Prates started to manage and teach the Program a year ago. The classes are focused in standing and ground self-defense techniques introduced in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment. You can start the program at any time without previous experience and, since safety is our number one concern, there is no competitive sparring in this program only drilling the studied techniques during the class. That’s what makes the  Fundamentals Program different to the Beginners Program.  In the Beginners Program we will reinforce what was learned into the Fundamentals, adding some new techniques and starting a competitive and guided sparring, preparing our students to the first belt grading, the Blue Belt.

From this week the Fundamentals classes will be on also on Fridays at 6 pm.  If you are new to Jiu Jitsu, we invite you to come to a Introductory class at 5:30 pm followed by Fundamentals. This is the first step to be introduced to BJJ and to experience what the Program is about, beside from meeting our instructors, the team and check it out the Academy.
